Shopping at Merano

A visit to the city centre with its historical sights, artistic architecture, interesting museums, typical cafés and the famous Portici (Arcades) built in the 13th century is a must if you want to feel the particular atmosphere of this city rich of history
and tradition. Of course the surroundings deserve a visit as well.
There are lovely, landscaped, shady walks, totalling over 40 kilometres, in and around Merano. The most famous of these is the Tappeiner Promenades, offering tremendous Alpine views, named after the doctor who planned it and donated it to the town in 1892.
Last but not least, the Thermal Baths of Merano contribute to the fame of this alpine city as an exclusive health resort of international level.
